Too much sugar can be scary!

In a week or so, little Hillary Clintons, Donald Trumps, and Freddie Kruegers will be storming your front porch demanding CANDY! And while we at MetaClinic recommend you give them what they want to prevent toilet paper glutting your trees, we also have some info about why you should be careful not to eat too much of it yourselves.

What happens when you eat too much sugar?

Your blood sugar can spike dramatically, causing nausea, headaches, dizziness, increased thirst, and more. Elevated blood sugar can even increase your appetite and make your body think it’s still hungry. Other negative effects of eating too much sugar include diabetes, hypoglycemia, obesity, yeast infections, and “Gummi Bear Teeth.” Ok, we made that last one up, but don’t you hate when you put too many in your mouth and your teeth stick together?

So sneak and consume your children’s Halloween candy in moderation (and help them do the same).

HELPFUL TIP: Don’t grab for Halloween candy when you’re hungry. Empty calories won’t fill you up and you’ll end up eating more candy. Eat some healthy food - fruits, veggies, protein, etc. - and then every once in a while treat yourself with a piece of candy.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN FROM METACLINIC!!!!!
